Its egg-straordinary name dates back to the Great Depression, when cash was scarce and locals bartered fresh eggs at the general store. Kids often traded just two eggs for sugar, snuff, or small necessities, leading folks to jokingly call it a “two-egg town.” The name stuck, appearing on official maps by 1940!
